Vollrath Gershwin - DE 431316638310
Gershwin is a striking black stallion with four white socks. In his pedigree he combines the best of Germany's more established and proven performance bloodlines.
Gershwin passed his licensing into the NZWA stallion studbook in 2017. He was assessed by the the highly qualified German breed inspector Matthias Alexander Werner. He showed great athleticism and scope over the jumps.
Under saddle he is demonstrating his ridability and trainability with Vollrath Stud's Jutta Rosenblatt. She says: “He is easy to ride!”
A Golden Pedigree
Versatility and performance stand out in Gershwin's pedigree. His sire, Goldfever II, was born in 2004 and dominated at his Stallion Licensing with his above-average basic gaits. He became successful at medium dressage level under Markus Gribbe.
Goldfever II was out of the mare Gundula by the Grande son, Galvano, who won his stallion test at Adelheidsdorf in 1985, topping both the jumping and dressage standings. Damhirsch (by Duft I) was popular at the Westfalien State Stud in the 60’s and 70’s.
Gundula was bred to different stallions, and her offspring achieved many successes both show jumping and dressage. Her most famous offspring was Goldfever I, a full brother to Goldfever II, who was ridden throughout his career by Ludger Beerbaum, winning at international level including a gold medal in Rome. He is now as a breeding stallion, marketed jointly by Celle, and the Ludger Beerbaum stables.
Grosso Z was born in 1983 and was a Stallion Performance Test winner in Warendorf. He competed in show jumping up to M level and was trained and competed as a dressage horse up to Intermediaire I level. Grosso Z was a versatile producer with offspring successful in dressage and show jumping to this day. He sired over 30 State Premium Mares and 15 licensed sons, including Galippo, Gallarius, Gaudino K, General Dancer, Gullit, Grancino, Griseldi, Gambit, Goethe, Zorro Z and Goldfever I and II.
Grozzo Z's most famous dressage offspring included Grand Prix horses Goethe, Grandioso, Gina Royal OLD, Gambrinus, Grosso's Erbe, Zorro Z and Florine Kienbaum's young riders' horse Good Morning M.
The Future Looks Bright
Gershwin is also convincing as a sire. The young stallion has produced three top quality foals at Vollrath Stud; the black filly Georgia, the chestnut colt Guns 'n Roses and the elegant black colt 'Gunsmoke'.
