Owner / Breeder Jody Hartstone is pleased to present her young colt Wyoming to the NZ Breeders.  Wyoming is the product of crossing her very best broodmare Luxor (Landioso) across the Hanoverian stallion Whisper whom Jody won numberous Grand Prix National Titles on, and stood at stud before a career ending injury meant the end for his all too short life.

Wymoings conception took place some 5 years after Whisper's passing, using the very last dose of his frozen semen left New Zealand.  This in itself made Wyoming special to Jody since the day he was born.

Whisper needs little introduction to New Zealand breeders.   Born in Germany, he was destined for stardom from an early age.  After completing his stallion licensing with the Hanoverian Verband he was competed by well known German Young Horse rider Susanne Miesner who took him to a second place at the Bunderschampionate – the German Young Horse Finals.

Whisper then was sold to Holland where he was competed by Olympian Hans Peter Minderhoud and won a Dutch National Championships in the middle levels of the sport.  Some time later he was purchased by Australian interests and under Brett Parbury he became Australian PSG Champion and Grand Prix Champion.  Luckily for NZ breeders he was then purchased by Erin Mortimer and Jody Hartstone to be imported to NZ, both as a breeding stallion and to aim at the FEI World Championships in Kentucky.  Whisper managed to engage a massive fan base in New Zealand in a short time, and won 11 out of his 12 starts in NZ including being crowned NZ Grand Prix Champion and NZ Horse Of The Year Champion.  He then flew back to Australia gaining a 3rd place in the Sydney CDI Grand Prix Kur competition and then boarded a plane to the USA.  Sadly it was not to be.  An old injury to Whisper’s fetlock started to take its toll on him and by the time he returned to NZ his health deteriorated rapidly and eventually was he was laid to rest so he would suffer no longer.

Wyoming’s dam has been an award winning mare in the NZ Warmblood Mare Stud Book.  She herself is by the Grand Prix stallion Landioso out of a Wesserwolf / Haajii xx mare.  Hajjii xx is found in the pedigrees of many top international Eventers and Showjumpers born in New Zealand.  Luxor was not competed herself as it was believed she would have far more influence as a broodmare than she ever could simply as a riding horse.

Luxor has had a number of foals over the years including Hidden Gold by SP Blue Eyed Ghost who is now competing in Show Jumping.  She has had two other full siblings to Wyoming, being the advanced dressage mare Winslet and the young horse Wiseman who is embarking on his dressage career right now.

Like his brother Wiseman before him, Wyoming was crowned Champion Warmblood Foal of his assessment year in 2018.  He scored a massive 85%+ from the German judge Gerd Kust who was impressed by every facet of the young black colt.

Turning four in Octrober 2021, Wyoming has just passed his licencing by the New Zealand Warmblood Association, via video link with the German Assessors, scoring a 79% and 81.5% for movement and an overall mark of 78% for conformation.

Wyoming has been hand picked by Jody Hartstone as a sire as she believe's that he has the presence, character, conformation, pedigree and movement to add something very special to the breeding scene in New Zealand.
